AREAS OF PROTECTED LANDSCAPES

Areas of protected landscapes cover the areas, which are taken under protection, because of their outstanding, diversified landscape. They are very valuable due to touristic matters. They also perform a function of ecological corridors.

Two areas of protected areas in the forest district:

- "The Valley of River Ilanka" - 7 864ha. The aim is retaining nature, recreational and historic features of the Rzepin Forest. The most precious objects are nature settlements, protected flora, fauna and fungi species as well as archeological positions.

- "The Forest by the River Pliszka" - 32 244ha. The aim is retaining nature, recreational and historic features of the Lubuskie Forest. The most precious objects are nature settlements, ecological areas, protected flora, fauna and fungi species, archeological positions and cultural landmarks (settlements, cemeteries, medieval hamlets and stone churches).
